Dog Friendly Beaches in Australia & South Pacific

Dog friendly beaches are heaven on earth for Fido. And since sandy paws equal happy dogs, we've sniffed out the best beaches in Australia where dogs can run, swim, and frolic in the sand. Use the links/map below to find a dog-friendly beach in Australia.

Pet Friendly Fingal Heads Beach
This is a fabulous dogs allowed beach. Dogs can swim in the surf and run along the gorgeous sandy beach and afterwards you can go for coffee, where the cafe owners put out fresh daily bowls of cool water for the dogs.
Pet Friendly Bottle Lake Forest Park
Dogs are welcome to enjoy the walking and biking trails through the beach and forest. Just keep them on a leash at all times and clean up after them.
Pet Friendly Lyall Bay Beach
Lyall Bay beach has a dog-exercise area available (off lead) all day. It's a great area to socialise your dog any time of the day with the other dogs playing on the beach. There's a great walk between the end of Seatoun beach, just past the children's playground (the other parts of the beach next to Marine Parade have certain hours only for dogs) and follow the path all the way around to Breaker Bay beach. Dogs can be off lead. The beaches are fabulous and you can even walk back over the mountain back to Seatoun if you're feeling energetic (follow the path)!
Pet Friendly Black's Beach
Blacks Beach in Mackay is 6 km long with flat hard sand to walk on with gorgeous island views. Shady in the afternoons. Also Bluewater Trail around the city river area makes for a lovely walk with leashed dogs.
