Banks-Vernonia State Trail The Banks-Vernonia State Trail from Vernonia to Braun is an easy, 5.5 mile hike in Oregon State Parks that will take about 2.5 hours to complete with Fido. Hiking along this trail will take you through open meadows and across a couple of water crossings. Be aware that much of this trail follows the road without a fence to block dogs from traffic. Veterans Park There are 2 separate and fenced dog areas. The larger one is spacious with lots of room for running & discovery. There are some shady areas and places to sit along with full-time water. The 2 areas share bags and garbage cans. The smaller fenced area is quite limited in space but is good for the smaller dogs. One side of the park is fenced with houses with a few barky dogs. If you have a rescue that that can trigger on fence fighting you may have to steer clear of that side it's not hard to do. See Details
