Jacksonville-Camp LeJeune Rails-to-Trails The Jacksonville-Camp LeJeune Rails-to-Trails is one of 1600 rail-trails supported by Rails-to-Trails Conservancy, a nonprofit organization that is working to create a nationwide network of trails from former rail lines and connecting corridors. Previously an unused railroad corridor, this "rail-trail" is now a great place to walk Fido in Jacksonville! Pet Friendly Hammocks Beach State Park
Hammocks Beach State Park Hammocks Beach State Park welcomes leashed dogs. Dogs are welcome on the beach but are not allowed in the water at the swimming area. Outside of the swimming area, dogs are allowed in the water but must remain on their leash at all times. Pets are also welcomed on Bear Island but owners must find their own way over as dogs are not allowed on the ferry. See Details
Island Creek Forest Walk Island Creek Forest Walk is an easy, 0.5 mile hike in Croatan National Forest that will take about 30 minutes to complete with Fido. The Croatan National Forest offers multiple opportunities for recreation including swimming, boating, fishing, and camping. This trail is well shaded, but can still get pretty warm and mosquito ridden in the summer. Please note that dogs must be on a leash no longer than 6 feet. Hunting allowed. See Details
Onslow County Beach Access #2 Onslow County Beach Access #2 is a pet-friendly access point to North Topsail Beach's stretch of sand. Dogs may not run free within Onslow Beach Recreation Area and must be kept on a leash no longer than 10 feet. Dogs are only allowed beach access at the Pet Beach located south of the Sand Dollar Shores Pavilion. Dog owners are reminded to clean up any mess that is left behind.
