This multi-use trail weaves through one of the prettiest areas in Florida, through pine forests and vast open spaces. There are four miles for walking at the Lake Butler Trailhead (Union County), and 19 miles that start at the Twin Lakes Park Trailhead. O'Leno State Park Dogs are allowed to join their owners at O'Leno State Park. You and Fido can enjoy the park’s picnic area that overlooks the Santa Fe River or hike one of the diverse hiking trails, including the River Trail, the Limestone Trail, and Parener’s Branch. The varied scenery switches between hardwood hammock, limestone outcrop, and pine forest. Unfortunately, pets are not allowed in the youth areas, primitive campsite, group camp, swimming area, or buildings. The fee for entrance into O'Leno State Park is $5 per vehicle and it is open every day of the week from 8am until sunset. See Details
Olustee Battlefield Historic State Park Dogs are welcome at Olustee Battlefield Historic State Park, commemorating the site of Florida's largest Civil War battle. Way back in 1864, there were 10,000 soldiers battling it out among the pine trees in this forest. The park became the state's first historic site in 1912 when soldiers who fought the battle were still alive to meet there for reunions. Pets are welcome on the one mile trail that follows the battle lines, but are not permitted inside the building or at the battle reenactment. Olustee Battlefield Historic State Park is open every day of the week from 9am to 5pm. See Details
