Vaughn Woods State Park Dogs are allowed to join their owners on the trails at Vaughn Woods State Park. This pet-friendly public recreation area is a 165-acre forested tract along the banks of Salmon Falls River. There are three miles of hiking trails that loop through old-growth stands of pine and hemlock that can be used by dogs and their owners. You can stop en route for a bite to eat in the shade of the tall trees at one of the picnic areas.
