Fisherman's Cove Conservation Area

Fisherman's Cove Conservation Area is the last undeveloped tract on the Manasquan Inlet. The 55-acre site is a great place to fish, walk on the beach, or go sunbathing. Dogs are welcome at Eastern section of the beach, but they must be leashed at all times to preserve the delicate coastal habitat. The Western section of the beach has been designated "dog free."

Edgar Felix Memorial Bikeway

The Edgar Felix Memorial Bikeway is one of 1600 rail-trails supported by Rails-to-Trails Conservancy, a nonprofit organization that is working to create a nationwide network of trails from former rail lines and connecting corridors. 8th Ave Dog Beach

From October 1st through May 15th, dogs are allowed on the Boardwalk and on the 8th Avenue Dog Beach all day. During the summer, dogs are welcome between the hours of 6pm - 8:30am. For your safety and pleasure, ONLY licensed non-aggressive dogs with adult supervision are permitted on the Dog Beach.

Sandy Hook/Gateway National Park

Ocean-side beaches at Sandy Hook Unit from March 15 through Labor Day (piping plover season). Pets ARE permitted on bay-side beaches at Plum Island and Horseshoe Cove throughout the year, but must always be on a leash. *Must carry out all trash, make preparations for carrying out dog waste.

Wonder Bar Yappy Hour

Wonder Bar hosts a Doggie Happy Hour weekly, usually on Thursdays. Doggies get to romp and play in very large fenced outdoor area while Mommy and Daddy enjoy a cool drink.

Island Beach State Park

Dogs are permitted in the park but must be kept on a leash that is a maximum length of six feet. They are not allowed on the swimming beach (the lifeguard area) during the summer season or on the Spizzle Creek Bird Blind Trail at any time. It is a good idea to check your dog for ticks after you take them on any of the other trails. Also do not leave your dog, or any other pet, unattended in the car during warm weather.

Wolf Hill Dog Park - Oceanport NJ

Wolf Hill is home to one of two Off-Leash Dog Areas operated by the Monmouth County Park System. This 4-acre area combines an area for dogs of all sizes as well as an area for smaller dogs weighing 35 lbs or less. Dog waste bags and garbage cans can be found in both dog areas, and there are portable toilets near the parking lot. There is no water source available at the site for dogs and owners, so you have to bring your own water bottles or jugs.

Double Trouble State Park

The Double Trouble Historic District has a self-guided, marked 1.5-mile loop nature trail and several miles of unmarked paths along sand service roads. Nature trail guides are available at the trailhead next to the cranberry packing house and at the park information building. Double Trouble Village is an active cranberry farm. Visitors are asked to use caution around the bogs and reservoirs. Vehicles are not permitted beyond the parking area except for canoe access at the White Bridge. Horseback riding & mountain biking are permitted on existing sand roads only; mountain bikers and geocachers are asked to refrain from creating rogue trails. No ATVs or motorized vehicles. Pets must be on a leash (6 feet or less in length) at all times and owners must clean up after their pets. Warning! Ticks may be present year round. It is advisable to take precautions and check yourself closely for ticks after visiting the park.

The Hungry Puppy Dog Park

The Hungry Puppy, a pet food and supply retailer at 1288 Route 33, Howell, opened its Puppy Park, a safe environment where pet owners can being their dogs to socialize. The Hungry Puppy Park is a free park and is open to the public from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays and 10 a.m.to 4 p.m. Sundays.
