Appalachian Trail (Harriman State Park) The Appalachian Trail in Harriman State Park in Monroe, NY, is a difficult 11.15-mile hike that will take about 8.5 hours or overnight to complete with Fido. This pet-friendly path is possibly one of the most challenging hikes on the Appalachian Trail but also the most beautiful.
