Lake Gregory Regional Park Dog Park is on the South Shore (including a little one for tiny guys), but the real fun is the 2.7-mile fitness trail. Dogs must be on a leash. Lots of dogs hike the lakeside trail (many swimming as they go) so there is a lot of scent to keep your 4-legged entertained. This hike will take you through the area where the final battle with the Old Fire of 2003 took place. The area was singed, but certainly not devastated, and is starting to recover. See Details
Cleghorn Mountain Trail Cleghorn Mountain Trail is a moderately easy, 10 mile hike in San Bernardino National Forest that will take about 4 hours to complete with Fido. Although this area was devastated by the Old Fire of 2003 and no longer has as much beautiful vegetation as before, the flora and fauna is beginning to grow in. Apple Valley Civic Center Dog Park Civic Center Dog Park Located on the eastern-most edge of Civic Center Park across the sidewalk from the retention basin, the dog park consists of two separately fenced sections for dogs based on weight class. One area is dedicated to dogs 25 pounds and under. The other is for dogs greater than 25 pounds. Each section has benches, a drinking fountain with a dog fountain, and doggie waste clean-up stations. Telegraph Peak Telegraph Peak via Manker Flat and Baldy Notch trails is a very difficult, 11.6 mile hike in Angeles National Forest that will take about 8 hours to complete with Fido. This trail loop has everything you can ask for in magnificent scenery including forests, streams, waterfalls, and mountains. The trail is at a high altitude and is steep and rocky, therefore it should only be attempted by pets and owners that are used to such terrain. Dogs must be leashed. See Details
