Dakota Rail Regional Trail The Dakota Rail Regional Trail is one of 1600 rail-trails supported by Rails-to-Trails Conservancy, a nonprofit organization that is working to create a nationwide network of trails from former rail lines and connecting corridors. Previously an unused railroad corridor, this "rail-trail" is now a great place to walk Fido in Wayzata! The map below shows a trailhead where you can pick up the Dakota Rail Regional Trail. Savage Dog Park Located near the Highway 13 West Frontage Road and Xenwood Avenue, the dog park consists of more than two acres of fenced in area with a small and large dog section. There are four mailboxes that contain poop bags, sand and wood chips cover the entrance area, water is available during warm weather, dog toys are available in baskets hanging on the fence and paths are snow-blown during the winter. This park is pleasant and well maintained with lights, porta potty, and garbage service.

The park is located within walking distance from the Hamilton District and downtown residential areas. There is no charge to use the park; however, residents are required to have their pet licensed by the City – a mandate for all Savage pet owners. The park will be open from sunrise to sunset every day and residents are expected to follow and carry with them a copy of park rules.

Bryant Lake Regional Dog Park Dogs go wild for this 9.3 acre, fully fenced off-leash play area in Eden Prairie's beautiful Bryant Lake Park. Our paved, regional and skijoring/dog sledding trails are dog-friendly. Dogs must be kept on a 6-foot, non-retractable leash except in designated off-leash areas. Leashed dogs are allowed on all paved trails except where posted otherwise. They are not permitted on turf trails, with the exception of designated trails in parks where no paved trails exist. Dogs on-leash are also allowed in campgrounds and group camps, but not in picnic or beach areas. Passes are required but may be purchased online.
