Congressional Cemetery Dogwalkers The K9 Corps at Historic Congressional Cemetery is a private dogwalking program, bringing life, community, and volunteerism to this extraordinary burial ground. Dogwalking at the cemetery is permitted by membership only. Membership is annual and runs from March 1st through the last day of February the following year. Prospective members may sign up by clicking on the Waitlist tab on the Cemetery Dogs website. The K9 Corps membership dues provide for maintenance of the grounds and assists with administrative costs. It is organized for the continued support of the ongoing work at Historic Congressional Cemetery through funds raised from donations and each member's ongoing volunteer work. As well as the beautiful coastal views, you can take a look at the original trolley station, now used as a covered picnicking area, and working fountain from the Bay Shore Amusement Park that used to draw lots of visitors between 1906 and 1947. Wildlife lovers will enjoy the varied animals that call the park their home, including muskrats, beavers, foxes, otters, osprey, great blue herons, and bald eagles.
