The main attractions of this picturesque park are the 42-acre man-made freshwater lake and the white sandy beach. There are eleven miles of hiking trails that weave around the surrounding woodland, considered to be moderate to strenuous, so you and your pooch should expect some fairly steep hills and rocky terrain. You'll also discover a portion of the Appalachian Trail on and around Bartman's Hill. Pets are allowed in the Cedar and Dogwood camp loops, on trails outside the day-use area, and in the day-use areas and lake. If you're planning on bringing your pooch with you to the park, make sure they're on a leash under six feet and all mess is cleaned up after them.
