Buffalo National River A rare undammed river in the United States, Buffalo River runs for one hundred and thirty five miles through the Ozark Mountains. Pets are welcome at Buffalo National River, but there are many restrictions for the safety of the park resources, wildlife, and other visitors. All park trails are closed to pets with the exception of the Tyler Bend Campground trails (Spring Hollow, Buck Ridge, and Rock Wall in the Middle District), and all three Buffalo Point Campground trails (Forest Trail, Overlook Trail, and Campground Trail in the Lower District). Pets are allowed in all campgrounds, on the river, and on the gravel bars, but must be under physical control at all times. You are welcome to float and enjoy the river with your dog. See Details

Millwood State Park Travel along the serene boat lanes of Millwood Lake at Millwood State Park or hike along the nature trail with your pup. A series of boat lanes meanders through submerged timber, marshes, and oxbow cutoffs making Millwood Lake an outstanding fishing destination. Arkansas Museum of Natural Resources Arkansas Museum of Natural Resources is dog-friendly. They allow all sizes of leashed pups to walk with their owners around the antique, but in some cases still working oil equipment on display outside that tell the story of the 1920s oil boom. The most impressive pieces at the museum are a 112-foot derrick and a central power station that could pull up to 15 wells. Smaller dogs can join you inside for a tour of a reproduction of a boomtown with an old jail and café, as long as they stay in your arms for the duration. The streets inside are lined with vintage trucks and gas pumps. You can catch a short film in the theater, and view exhibits on the origins of oil and how to drill for it. See Details
