Pet Friendly Ozark-St. Francis National Forests in Russellville, AR
The Ozark National Forest is a 1.2 million-acre forest located in the Ozark Mountains of western Arkansas. The St. Francis National Forest is just over 22,000 acres in eastern Arkansas, making it one of the smallest national forests in the country. Both parks offer an assortment of outdoor activities, including hiking, camping, swimming, fishing and scenic drives. Dogs are allowed in both parks, but should remain on leashes while in the campground areas.

Just as the name indicates, you'll find acres and acres of woodland gardens at Garvan Woodland Gardens. You can rent a golf cart for a guided tour for a nominal fee, or you and your furry friend can walk along the many paths at your leisure, too. Take a picnic lunch or dine at Chipmunk Cafe's dog-friendly outdoor patio. Garvan Woodland Gardens has a charming pet fountain that looks like a natural spring coming out of the rock.

Nicknamed "The American Spa,” Hot Springs National Park surrounds the north end of the city of Hot Springs, Arkansas. You can no longer sit in the natural hot springs in the woods here, but you and Fido can explore 26 miles of trails with interesting rock formations, wildflowers, and beautiful scenery. There are trails of varying length and difficulty, so there's something for everyone. Those interested in historic buildings might also enjoy a stroll down Bathhouse Row and the Grand Promenade. Pets but must wait outside the visitor center and other park buildings if you decide to go inside.
