Illinois Beach State Park Illinois Beach State Park, also known as Adeline Jay Geo-Karis Illinois Beach State Park, stretches 6.5 miles along the sandy shores of Lake Michigan. This park is split into two sections that can be explored by dogs and their owners. You can go on coastal walks together along the sand, or head inland and revel in the beauty of the huge wooded areas of pine trees and black oak. There are five miles of trails to enjoy on the south side of the park, including sections of the Zion Bike Trail, a 2.2 mile loop with a graveled surface, and a multi-use loop as well. Fido is welcome as long as they are on a leash under six feet and you pick up after them. The park is open every day of the week from 8am until 8pm. See Details

Rock Cut State Park Dogs are allowed at Rock Cut State Park, where the mighty Rock River has carved out a number of craggy rocky landmarks into the surroundings. This 3,092-acre park contains two lakes that are popular among anglers and water-sports enthusiasts alike. Around the lakes, you'll discover the 40-mile Rock Cut Trail System ideal for pooches who love to explore. The trails vary in difficulty and terrain, with paved trails for less confident hikers and more difficult woodland pathways for outdoor enthusiasts. Keep your eyes peeled for waterfowl, deer, fox, muskrat, woodchuck and beaver, opossum, and raccoons that live in the park. Fido is welcome to join you on the trails as long as they are on a leash under six feet. See Details
Moraine Hills State Park Dogs are welcome at Moraine Hills State Park. This pet-friendly recreation area is home to all sorts of different wildlife, including red fox, coyote, white-tailed deer, eastern cottontail, mink, opossum, raccoon, and lots of different birds. Located near the Fox River, McHenry Dam, and Lake Defiance; anglers swarm to the area in the hopes of hooking a fresh catch from the water. For those who prefer hiking to fishing, there are more than ten miles of trails, some surfaced with crushed limestone, that wind their way through the park. Alternatively, you can wander on the Fox River Trail, the Leatherleaf Bog Trail, and the 3.7-mile Lake Defiance Trail. The River Road trail is a paved pathway that is ideal for all levels of hikers. Additionally, you'll find ten different day use areas which are ideal for picnics as well, but remember, Fido must remain on a leash wherever they are in the park. See Details
