Beavertail Hill State Park Beavertail Hill State Park is a 65-acre dog-friendly recreation area in Missoula, MT. Located on the Clark Fork River, visitors enjoy great fishing opportunities and recreational boat users can float to their heart's content. Additionally, there's a one-hour nature trail through a thick canopy of cottonwoods that you and Fido can explore together. Dogs are welcome to join their owners throughout the park on a leash, as long as all mess is cleaned up after them. See Details
Pet Friendly Beartooth Highway
Beartooth Highway Beartooth Highway is pet-friendly. Ending just before the northeast entrance to Yellowstone National Park, Beartooth Highway gives Fido the chance to see the same varied wildlife as inside the park but without the crowds. Beartooth Highway winds 68 miles into the Northern Rocky Mountains, gaining 5,000ft in elevation along the way and cutting through one of the most wildlife-rich regions of the United States. Visitors have the chance to see Mountain Lions, Moose and Bears, oh my. In addition to wonderful wildlife, scenic overlooks offer panoramic views of alpine meadows, untouched lakes and snow-capped mountains. Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument Fido can join on the roadway near Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument in Crow Agency, MT. While limited, the pet-friendly area where dogs are allowed is restricted to the side of the main road across from the national monument, making for a nice pitstop. Milltown State Park Milltown State Park is a dog-friendly recreation area in Missoula, MT. The overlook down to the Clark Fork River floodplain is the main attraction of this park, which can be accessed on the 1.5-miles of hiking trails. There are a number of other hiking trails that weave around this park, taking in views of the confluence of the Clark Fork and Blackfoot Rivers. You and Fido will discover 500 acres of terrain in total, ranging from restored river bottoms to a pine forested bluff. Dogs are welcome on a leash, as long as all mess is cleaned up after them. Thompson Falls State Park Thompson Falls State Park is a dog-friendly recreation area in Thompson Falls, MT. The mature pine forest that sprawls over the park is worthy of an exploration from even the most discerning pooch hikers. The Thompson Falls Trail which runs along the Clark Fork River will connect to the HWY 200 trail leading to the nearby town. Council Grove State Park Council Grove State Park in Missoula, MT, is dog friendly. The park is home to stunning pines, grassy fields by the park picnic area, and cottonwoods along the Clark Fork that can all be explored by dogs and their owners. Pooches will also love the pet-friendly trails that are dotted around the park. Dogs are required by law to be on leash at all times no greater than eight feet in length. Council Grove State Park also falls under the Primitive Parks act, meaning there are little to no services onsite, so there are no dog waste bags and no trash cans. Tower Rock State Park Dogs are welcome to join their owners at Tower Rock State Park, a pet-friendly park in Cascade, MT. Located along the stretch of the Missouri River, the centerpiece of the park is a 424-foot high rock. The rock used to be a great landmark for Native Americans to decipher when they are entering the rich buffalo grounds of north central Montana. Jump on the trail with Fido to the base of the saddle, maintained for a quarter-mile.
