Pet Friendly Birge Pond - Hoppers Preserve in Bristol, CT
Off leash dog park. Large, unfenced, open meadow crisscrossed with trails. In addition: over 2 miles of hiking trails through wooded area where posting states dogs to be kept on leash but where they are historically and typically off leash.
Pet Friendly Rockwell Park in Bristol, CT
Other sites' directions are misleading. Off Route 72 (Park St.) and NOT near the Muzzy Field ball park in Rockwell Park, but further up the road about 1/4 mile and across the small river. You will cross the Pequabuck River and the next right turn (opposite Pepin Metal) is N. Park Rd. The Bark Park is just down that road on the left. The dog park is on a steep hillside with two sections (for large dogs and for small). Dogs can negotiate the slope more easily than humans. There are benches within the enclosure and probably plenty of shade in warm weather.
Pet Friendly Southbury Dog Park in Southbury, CT
The property is located off of Roxbury Road (Route 67) across from the Red Horse Stables. The entrance is through the O & G Industries' entrance, on the right a short distance in. Owners can bring their dogs to enjoy the company of other dogs, to play a game of fetch, or go for a dip in the stream. It is an off-leash area for dogs, but it's not completely fenced in. Call (203) 262-0633 for more info.
