Polliwog Park Dog Run The Polliwog Park Dog Run is located on the west end of Polliwog Park, adjacent to Begg Field. This 5,900 square foot dog run is the largest in Manhattan Beach. No more than two dogs in the run at a time. If others are waiting, please leave the run after no more than 15 minutes. Dogs are also permitted, on leash, along designated pathways parallel with Begg Pool and soccer field. See Details

This dog-friendly park is split into two sections next to some basketball courts: one for large dogs that covers 7000 sf; and another for smaller dogs that covers 4000 sf. The floor of the park is made of specially formulated K9 artificial turf for dogs that is environmentally safe and doesn't contain rubber infill. This design should keep Fido's paws cool and prevent them being burnt. Both of the dog parks are fenced, gated, have new seat benches, dog water stations, and even have live trees and vines. Although some restrictions may apply on certain holidays, the park is usually open from 6am to 12am. To keep the parks maintained, the large dog park will be closed every Wednesday from 9am to 10am, and the small dog park will be closed every Wednesday from 10am to 11am. See Details

Visitors will find water in each side of the park as well as agility equipment. The park is free to use, but all dogs are required to have a dog license through the City or County that the owner resides in. There are two parking areas for park users: The main entrance is on Avalon and the second and smaller one is on Herone Pointe off of Seal Beach Blvd. This park has a old closed main road that cuts through it at the base and many nice trails that are branching on the above sloping hill. You can also hike the Hellman Trail which dead ends about a quarter mile north. Make sure to keep your dog on a leash, since local leash laws are always in effect. See Details
