However, all dogs must be registered with the Monroe County Department of Parks for entry to the dog park (or will be subject to a fine). Fees are $24 per dog, $25 per dog if paying by credit/debit card. Hours are 7am to 5pm, October 15 through March 14 and then 7am to 9pm, March 15 through October 14.

Ellison Dog Park

Love this park! Great resource for the area. There are actually three in Rochester - this one is an Ellison Park. The other two are in Henrietta and Greece. It should be noted that a lot of the negative reviews are complaints about the fee for each dog on the Greece dog park listing. Yes, your tax dollars help to make the park possible, but as the number of dogs increase, the number of tax dollars don't! Each person who uses the park is adding work for the park rangers and the people who keep it clean and safe for our dogs. Compared to other cities with much higher fees (I've seen ones as expensive as $150 per year!) Rochester is a great deal. You get access to all three parks year round where there is plenty of room for all dogs to play and get great exercise. HOW DO I REGISTER MY DOG(S)? All owners must register their dogs with the Monroe County Department of Parks. Permits are not prorated and expire December 31 of the current permit year. There are TWO ways to register: Dogs must be at least 6 months of age to qualify to register. #1 - Dogs can be registered during normal business hours: M – F 8:30am – 4:30pm at 171 Reservoir Avenue, Rochester, NY14620 . We can accept cash, checks and credit cards, there is plenty of free, off street parking, and we can make copies of your licensing documents. You will need a current copy of your dog(s) license with current address, a copy of current Rabies Certificate, completed permit, and a signed Acknowledgement, Agreement, and Release form. Permit and Acknowledgement, Agreement, and Release forms are available only where you register. There is a $24 per dog fee that can be paid via cash or check. Credit card payments can only be taken at the Parks Department. Credit card payments will be $25 per dog which includes service fees. #2 - Staff will also be available at the dog park for on-site registration periodically. Always check this page for information on upcoming on-site registration dates and times. Please bring copies of your dog's license and rabies certificate as we will need to keep copies on file. On-site registrations can accept cash, check, or credit cards. Weather permitting, park staff will be located directly at the dog park(s). In case of inclement weather staff will be located at either Creekside Lodge at Ellison Park or the Greece Canal Labor Center at Greece Canal Park.
