Dog Mountain is THE meeting place for dogs with their people. Located in the breathtakingly beautiful Northeast Kingdom of St. Johnsbury, Vermont, this pet-friendly, 150-acre farm has been transformed into a doggy playscape complete with swimming ponds, hiking trails, an art gallery full of dog-related artwork and the only Dog Chapel in existence. The Chapel, built by Vermont folk artist and children's book author Stephen Huneck, is visited by thousands annually to reflect and post message and photos of pets that have passed on. Leashed dogs are welcome on the loop through the Mile Around Woods in North Bennington, VT. Further west (look for the open fields), dogs may be off-leash. During the summer, please ensure that dogs stay out of the endangered grassland birds' nesting site (it's well-marked), and to pick up after Fido at all times.

Lyndonville, VT's Kingdom Trails are pet friendly. KTA offers more than 100 miles of quality non-motorized, multi-use, all four seasons, and all level of ability trails. Leashed dogs are welcome on the trails Monday through Thursday. Dog owners are reminded to clean up any mess left behind by pups.
