Ben Burton Park Leashed dogs are welcome to join their humans at Ben Burton Park in Athens, GA. This beautiful, 32-acre wildlife preserve is a great place for a picnic or a quiet walk through the woods on their 1.4 mile pedestrian trail. Just be sure to clean up after your pet at all times. Hard Labor Creek State Park This park has 2.5 miles of trails open to hikers during the week, or 12.5 miles of biking trails if you and Fido are up for the challenge. Dogs must remain on a leash no longer than 6 feet at all times. They are not permitted in or around historic sites, lodges, group camps, or swimming areas.
