You can either drive to the top or attempt to hike the difficult three mile Holbert Trail. Try going at sunset, when the light from the sun reflect onto the rocks and makes them look bright red. If you are hiking, make sure to bring plenty of water for yourself and for Fido. Dogs must be leashed at all times at Dobbins Lookout.

Ruth Hamilton Trail is pet-friendly. This popular trail is just over 3 miles in length and intersects the Quartz Ridge Trail. There is a nice observation bench at the intersection. The western section of this trail offers a number of switchbacks and is moderately rocky. Once the hiker reaches the peak, the trail descends and levels out. Although short, it is moderately popular and offers tremendous views of the downtown corridor and the northern Sonoran mountains. Wildflowers are abundant during the spring.
