The trail starts off HWY 38 about .2 miles west of Stanfield Cutoff and is well marked and has plenty of parking at the trailhead. Leashed dogs are allowed. An Adventure Pass or Interagency Pass is required for use of the amenities at the trailhead parking area. See Details

In the summer, you can rent paddleboards, rowboats, paddleboats, sailboats, and water cycles. Outside of the swimming area, anglers will find excellent fishing for trout, catfish and bass. The real fun is the 2.7-mile fitness trail featuring exercise stations along the scenic path around the lake. Dogs must be leashed when visiting the park unless visiting one of the dog parks on the property. Please note that dogs are not allowed on the beach, at events, or in any of the gated areas. There's no need for a permit when hiking this peak, the highest outside of the National Forest. The trail will take you on a very rocky path through the alpine forest. Be sure to bring plenty of water and check Fido's paws frequently. This area is subject to seasonal closure due to weather conditions. Heading into the San Gorgonio Wilderness and getting to the San Bernardino Divide is difficult on any trail. Even the most conditioned dogs will struggle on this trail.
