Ruffner Mountain At over 1,000 acres in size, pet-friendly Ruffner Mountain in Birmingham, AL provides visitors with over 11 miles of scenic hiking trails in a protected urban area. Bring Fido to the Overlook Trail via Quarry Trail, one of the park's most popular hikes that leads to awesome views across Birmingham's skyline. Pet Friendly Jemison Park
Jemison Park Jemison Park in Mountain Brook, NJ, is a 54-acre linear park designed for preservation as a greenway. Enjoy the scenic views, dog-friendly walking and jogging trails, or enjoy a picnic with Fido. There are dog stations throughout the park, picnic tables and benches. The one-mile concrete trail connects with the Nature Trail and the Watkins Trace Trail. Because it is tied in with the City’s sidewalk system, it is easily accessible. There are also several parking spaces along Mountain Brook Parkway for parking. Owls, hawks, raccoons, and fox are among the animals residing in the area. See Details
Turkey Creek Nature Preserve Bring Fido to check out the five miles of hiking trails (paved and unpaved) that wind up and down the whitewater beauty of the pet-friendly Turkey Creek Nature Preserve in Pinson, AL. Russell Cave National Monument Russell Cave National Monument is a pet-friendly historic site in Bridgeport, AL. Once home to prehistoric peoples, it functions today as an archaeological site and historic monument, containing the most complete record of prehistoric cultures in the southeastern United States. The surrounding grounds are home to a museum, bookstore, and nature trails. Prehistoric tools and weapons demonstrations are available, and a Native American Festival takes place annually at the park. Dogs are allowed in the park but must remain on a leash at all times, and owners must clean up after their pets. While visiting, they offer Fido the chance to join the Bark Ranger program. This program consists of learning what each letter in B.A.R.K. stands for and practicing these lessons during your visit. See Details

John B Scott Forever Wild Trail Dogs are welcome to join their owners at John B Scott Forever Wild Trail in Dadeville, AL. This pet-friendly 4.4-mile loop trail features a lovely river along the way. Noccalula Falls Park Noccalula Falls Park, located in Gadsden, AL, is home to a beautiful waterfall with dog-friendly trails through Black Creek Gorge. Over five miles of paved walking trails wind through the park proper starting at the Admissions Pavilion. Randall Family Park & Trailhead Randall Family Park & Trailhead in Tuscaloosa is a dog-friendly park and trail on the north side of the Black Warrior River. The trail is paved and goes along the river, which makes for the perfect stroll with Fido! The park also features many amenities like picnic tables, grills, a playground, a pavilion for gatherings, and lots of grassy fields, as well as a public art sculpture: “Dogs, dogs, dogs” by Birmingham Sculpture. Chief Ladiga Trail The Chief Ladiga Trail is one of 1600 rail-trails supported by Rails-to-Trails Conservancy, a nonprofit organization that is working to create a nationwide network of trails from former rail lines and connecting corridors. Previously an unused railroad corridor, this dog-friendly "rail-trail" is now a great place to walk Fido in Jacksonville! Paul Grist State Park Dog-friendly Paul Grist State Park in Selma, AL, features a 100-acre lake and up to 20 miles of hiking trails on more than 1,000 acres. This featured site on the Alabama Black Belt Birding Trail is home to a variety of waterfowl, songbirds, raptors, and both migrating and resident species. Other wildlife you might see include white-tailed deer and Eastern wild turkey. Dogs must be supervised at all times and are welcome in most areas of the park as long as they are leashed, except for inside bathhouses and swimming areas.
