December brings six hotels that are opening their doors to furry guests for the first time. From big city Kentucky to small town Nevada, Fido can rest his paws at these newly pet-friendly accommodations across America this month.

Moxy Louisville Downtown

Bold Beagles and courageous Corgis will feel right at home at Moxy Louisville Downtown, a chic urban retreat nestled in historic Whiskey Row. Bourbon barrel dog beds and water bowls are provided in stylish rooms featuring laminate wood flooring, comfy sitting chairs, 55-inch Smart TVs, complimentary WiFi and floor-to-ceiling windows with river or city views. Have a drink at the on-site Bar Moxy, play vintage video and board games in the lobby lounge and work out in the state-of-the-art 24/7 fitness center.

Sample an authentic taste of the South on the dog-friendly patio at Merle’s Whiskey Kitchen, located one block from the hotel.

Moxy Louisville Downtown accepts one dog up to 50 lbs for an additional fee of $35 per stay. A portion of the pet fee benefits the Kentucky Humane Society.

Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort and Spa

Two- and four-legged guests looking to relax and unwind in the heart of the Lonestar State will be pampered to the nines at Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort and Spa. Pups can request dog beds and feeding bowls before settling into spacious rooms and suites equipped with separate seating areas, work desks, mini refrigerators, flat-screen HDTVs and private patios or balconies. Splash around in the five-acre water park with a lazy river, hit the trails on a complimentary bicycle, get your heart rate up in the 24-hour gym, dine at one of five on-site restaurants and enjoy nightly s’mores by the fire pit.

Pups can stretch their paws four miles away at Tom Slick Dog Park. The park offers separate areas for large and small dogs, a water fountain and plenty of benches.

Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort and Spa welcomes two dogs up to 50 lbs for an additional fee of $100 per stay.

TownePlace Suites by Marriott Cleveland is an ideal stopover for furry road trippers seeking adventure in eastern Tennessee. Apartment-style suites are outfitted with living areas with sofa beds, full kitchens with stovetops and dishwashers, writing desks and private bathrooms with walk-in showers. Guests are welcome to fuel up at the breakfast buffet, exercise in the fitness center, swim laps in the seasonal outdoor pool and grill burgers in the outdoor barbecue lounge.

Fido can play off leash at the fully fenced Tinsley Park Dog Park, located less than two miles from the hotel.

When discovering all that dog-friendly Florida has to offer, hotels like Home2 Suites by Hilton Wildwood The Villages make excellent basecamps for canine travelers and their owners. Modern suites include sofa bed living areas, kitchens with full-size refrigerators and dishwashers, and 55-inch flat-screen TVs. Complimentary amenities include parking, WiFi and breakfast. Take advantage of the 24-hour fitness center, salt-water swimming pool and on-site laundry facilities.

The aptly named Darrell’s Dog Gone Good Diner is the perfect nearby spot for breakfast or lunch with Fido.

Home2 Suites by Hilton Wildwood the Villages welcomes two pets up to 75 lbs for an additional fee of $75 (for stays of 1 to 5 nights) and $125 (for longer stays).

New England’s seaside charm is on full display at the dog-friendly Brenton Hotel. This luxury boutique hotel provides spacious rooms featuring cozy seating areas, large bathrooms with walk-in showers, high-speed WiFi, floor-to-ceiling windows with panoramic harbor or city views, and picnic-style room service including a Top Dog Menu. Enjoy a delicious daily breakfast, grab a drink at the on-site bar, mingle with friends in the rooftop community space and schedule a staff-led biking/walking tour around town.

Pups can stroll year-round along the Cliff Walk shoreline trail, located one mile from the hotel. When visiting during the summer, furry captains are allowed to hop aboard a dog-friendly cruise at nearby Sea Newport.

Comfort Inn Tonopah

Located an hour away from the California border and three hours from Las Vegas, Comfort Inn Tonopah offers comfortable accommodations for weary pet parents passing through the Nevada desert.
