Wilmington Trail

Hike up Whiteface Mountain with your pup and cross the first mountain of the 46 Adirondack High Peaks off your checklist. At the summit, you will enjoy spectacular views of the Adirondacks and be on your way to becoming a Forty-Sixer. The main route up Whiteface Mountain is Wilmington Trail--a 5.2-mile one-way hike with an elevation gain of nearly 3,700 feet. Spend a day surrounded by the beauty of nature as you hike to the top of New York’s fifth-highest mountain with your pup, along this trail.

Whiteface Veterans Memorial Highway

If you want to enjoy the gorgeous scenery of Whiteface Mountain without all the work of hiking, you can drive up the Whiteface Mountain Veterans Memorial Highway. Near the top, you can take the elevator up the last 300 feet or climb the stairs. Dogs are not permitted in the elevator, so be prepared to climb the stairs to the summit if Fido is joining you.
