Pet Friendly MaCaulay Point Park in Victoria, BC
Once you go past Flemming Beach and Buxton Green to the breakwater it opens up to an off leash paradise for pups and stunning views for their owners. If you want a social gathering head here on a weekday at about 5:30pm and all the locals and their dogs are out. The locals meet on top of the hill but there are 2 looping paths you can walk as well. The inner path is less remarkable but keeps you out of the wind on the days the weather isn't at it's best. The outer path is larger and has stunning views. There are also a few trails down to small beaches, for a cool dip. There is no drinking water at this park so bring a water bottle. The pups get thirsty with all the playing.
Pet Friendly French Beach Provincial Park in Victoria, BC
French Beach on Vancouver Island in beautiful British Columbia will make doggie dreams come true. The hard-packed sand is ideal for a top speed run with a dip or two in the Juan de Fuca Strait. A towering rock formation right on the beach is the perfect place to play hide and seek with a tennis ball. And the abundance of driftwood makes a perfect throw stick easy to find. Even the doggie bags are top notch ? compliments of several nearby restaurants.
Pet Friendly Mama Bears Trail of Tears in Cumberland, BC
A beautiful forest trail maintained by the Cumberland Forest Society and popular with local dog owners. Located off Comox Lake Road in the Cumberland Community Forest.
Pet Friendly Capital Iron in Victoria, BC
The store that has 'everything' and is pet friendly too boot. Whether it's fabrics, furniture, antiques or anything in between you'll find it at Capital Iron. The staff are all very affectionate towards pets. There is a watering bowl on the 2nd floor and usually K9 cookies at the check out. It's one of the few pet friendly stores in town that isn't specifically a pet store.
Pet Friendly Harbour Ferries in Victoria, BC
Whether it's a scenic harbour tour by boat, or a a quick trip from West Bay to Fisherman's wharf I recommend a ride on the harbour ferries. It's up to the captain and the fellow passengers if they'll take the dog, but I've never been turned down, even when traveling with a great dane and chocolate lab.
