Annual Doggie Dash and Dawdle

Why: Doggie Dash & Dawdle is Animal Humane New Mexico’s largest annual fundraiser with proceeds supporting homeless pets in our care and our community programs. It’s not just about dogs! Event proceeds also support our cats and cat programs too! Details: Doggie Dash & Dawdle is Albuquerque’s premier pet lover’s event! Join Animal Humane New Mexico for the 32nd annual Doggie Dash and Dawdle held on Sunday, November 2. One of our community’s most popular annual events, about 2,000 canines will be dashing and dawdling, along with more than 4,500 human participants who adore their pets. Doggie Dash & Dawdle is a one-day event that enthusiastically and cheerfully celebrates the human + animal bond. Gates open at 8 am, with the 5K Dash starting at 9 am and the 2-mile Dawdle (fun walk) taking place at 11 am. The Dash and Dawdle are open to adult and children participants. Dogs are welcome to join their pet parents for the Dash and Dawdle, but are not required. The 5K Dash is a chip-timed race, with medals being awarded to the top runners in their category for age, gender, and running with or without a furry friend. After dashing or dawdling with, or without, your canine companion, join us for a day of fun and games! Doggie Dash & Dawdle’s Barketplace is a one-stop shop with more than 70 vendors including services, pet-related businesses, animal rescue groups and more. There will be live entertainment, a Doggie Carnival complete with games and prizes, contests and an off-leash dog park. Wishing you had a canine companion to dash or dawdle with? You can Rent-A-Dog for the day! Animal Humane’s adoptable dogs will be in attendance. You can rent a furry friend to run or walk the race with you, enjoy the Doggie Carnival and peruse the Barketplace. Renting a dog costs only $10! You’ll be doing a good deed by giving a homeless dog a memorable experience, while enjoying this day yourself.
