THORR Invites Pups & People to Enjoy Dog Day Dog Lovers to Lap Up the Fun, Unleash Their Inner Puppy at October 18 RottOberfest Celebration Want to care for your inner and outer pooch? Reiki healing and nail clipping are just two of the activities featured at this year’s THORR RottOberfest canine gathering, scheduled for Sunday, October 18 from 11am-4pm indoors at Central Bark, 1519 St. Paul Avenue, Gurnee, IL. The charity fundraising event is sponsored by True Hearts of Rottweiler Rescue [THORR] and is open to all well-behaved canines and their people. THORR Executive Director Darlene Hombaker noted, “RottOberfest recognizes all the generous people who help rescue these worthy dogs, whether they adopt, foster, transport, provide food, services or financial support. It’s a celebration to thank all of our two- and four-footed friends and supporters.” A $10.00 donation per family is all that’s required for a day filled with fun festivities for pooches and their companions alike. Open to leashed canines of all sizes and styles (and their people), RottOberfest features a pet portrait photographer, canine nutritionist, animal communicator and Reiki healer. Other RottOberfest offerings include swag bags for the first 50 families, a silent auction, Rottie raffle, rescue parade, doggie dress-up game, musical squares, obstacle course and awards for the best trick and best costume along with natural dog treats and toys.
