Dog Days at The Market

“Dog Days at The Market” will offer many family and pet-friendly activities. Activities and bands have been added to the original schedule of festivities. The day’s festivities include: • Opening of The Market – plants, seedlings and local, organic produce available for purchase which continue every Saturday from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. for eight weeks • Kick-off of free educational seminars on eating and living well, gardening and green techniques • Food trucks and Sweetwater beer • Live Bluegrass and Americana music played on the River Stage with solar power provided by Tree Sound Studios • Swings and picnic benches along the river for family fun • Bicycle friendly activities and servicing stations • Dog-related events and shows from agility trials to flying disc dog tricks • Over 40 vendors selling pet-friendly organic crafts, games and other items Dogs are welcome to roam in Georgia’s newest dog pasture, a five-acre, fenced-in area which runs along the Chattahoochee River. Activities added to the kick-off include: •Musical line-up on the River Stage -Shed -Rocket88 -The Non-Essentials -The Owls •Demonstrations -Stand-up paddle boarding -Fly fishing - Mushroom inoculation -Compost tea -K-9 Coach dog training -Disc dog show •Paddle and play on the Chattahoochee River in a tube, canoe or paddleboard •Atlanta Pet Rescue & Adoption will have dogs on-site and adoptions can be made at APRA’s new facility in Smyrna.
