Barks and Bites: BeltLine Doggie Crawl
Does your dog love the BeltLine? Then they’re in for a real treat! Bring Fido out for his very own one-mile restaurant crawl. There will be tasty pup snacks at each stop as well as small bites and a craft beer or soda for humans. There's a drawing for a fun prize on every crawl, and you'll get lots of giveaways from local and national dog businesses. This event is for adults 17 and older.

Pickin' in the Park
Weather permitting, leashed dogs are welcome each Thursday to enjoy an evening of live music with the beautiful background of the Toccoa River. Picnic tables are available, and there's a grassy lawn where visitors are welcome to set up their own blankets or lawn chairs.

Blue Ridge Freedom 5K
Leashed dogs, walkers and runners are welcome to this fundraising race in the heart of downtown Blue Ridge. Sip and Play will have a doggie water station to keep furry runners hydrated and cool, and will be selling mimosas and bloody Marys to enjoy after the race. Angry Hops will also be open after the race. The most spirited runner awards will be given to the most creative red, white and blue dressed runners. Awards will be given for 1st through 3rd for overall male and female, masters male and female, and age groups in five year increments. Dogs welcome at the back of the pack and not in the registration/packet pickup line on race day.

White Squirrel Artisans Market Summer Fest
Celebrate summer with Fido at this outdoor market! This lively day of community fun will feature 60+ local vendors and nonstop live entertainment at the outdoor amphitheater. Leashed dogs are welcome in the outdoor areas, but not inside the Porter Center. Bring your chairs or a blanket and settle in for a full day of shopping, music, delicious food trucks and vendors, and exciting raffle prizes benefiting local nonprofits. RE/MAX Land of the Waterfalls will be on site handing out freebies, and don’t miss a special visit from the White Squirrel Institute and their furry friends.

The Great Ape Escape 5K-ish
Leashed dogs are welcome at this unique, untimed fun run taking place at the Project Chimps sanctuary! Participants will walk, jog or run along the scenic, hilly course that winds through the 230-acre property, offering glimpses of retired research chimpanzees in their forested habitats. This event provides a rare opportunity to visit the sanctuary, which is not typically open to the public, while supporting the care of over 80 rescued chimps. Along the way, attendees can enjoy interactive educational stations, learn about chimp conservation, and take part in fun, family-friendly activities. The race is designed to be inclusive for all fitness levels, with no pressure to complete it within a set time. Registration includes a commemorative T-shirt, and participants are encouraged to fundraise to further support Project Chimps' mission. The event is rain or shine.
