- DonnaApr 14, 2024Great value, great outdoors
The Inn is in a beautiful setting with lots of green space for pooches to run….we would come back for sure.
- ChristinaApr 1, 2024Mostly happy
Was a great stay. The only complaint was the dog lot! People need to clean up after their dogs! Nasty people! The bags are there so use them! Some people are just so lazy. But the staff were great, room was great and I was thankful for a nice room that I could bring my dogs!
- ArielFeb 7, 2024Disappointed
I'll start with what we appreciated. Beds were decent although pillows were too flat and bedding scratchy, climate controls were adjustable and effective, quiet room, breakfast options were standard and we appreciated that they had plain unsweetened packets of oatmeal that we could prepare as we like.
Areas for improvement. Upon entering the lobby and throughout the hotel we were overwhelmed by the smell of cleaning products. Our bathroom door would not latch closed or stay closed. It also looked like it was undergoing repairs and had primer on scratches and gouges in the wood. The shower curtain smelled bad and had mildew spots on it. When I asked for a replacement they gave me one to replace it myself since they couldn't find anyone to replace it before I would need to take a shower.
The replacement curtain was two feet shorter than the old one so I had to readjust the tension shower curtain rod lower so that it would keep the water from splashing out during a shower. Additionally when I went to prepare myself some coffee/tea I found that the Keurig water tank was speckled inside with mildew/mold. I took a picture of it to show the front desk and ask for a replacement. Somehow this request was translated to the cleaning staff that we wanted our room cleaned!
Fortunately we were in our room when the cleaning crew arrived and we were able to explain what the issue was and they gave us a new replacement coffee maker. There were at least three light bulbs that were not working so I was able to get replacement lightbulbs from the cleaning staff when they stopped by. We were also short one pillow on one bed. We were staying for several days so we bought food to keep in the mini fridge/freezer.
When we went to unload the items into the fridge we found a half consumed iced coffee bottle in the fridge. Additionally the freezer compartment was completely iced over so that we had to request a replacement mini fridge to be able to use the freezer space. Finally, this hotel advertises that it is dog friendly and has a fenced off dog park area. While this is true, the fence is bent and twisted in places and in some of these places a dog could get out of the enclosed area. The dog park area also shared patio space with the designated smoking area which is unfortunate if you prefer to avoid cigarette smoke.
I would not choose to stay here again unless it made some serious upgrades to their level of cleaning and room/property maintenance. It could really be a lovely stay, their location has great views and is conveniently located.
- MadisonJan 21, 2024Serviceable
The inn has a fenced in dog park on the third floor where the pet friendly rooms are; that was really convenient and perfect after a long day in the car. The hotel/rooms weren’t the cleanest and smelled like cigs.
- ScottJan 8, 2024Good
This is an older property that’s been pretty well-maintained but it’s not new and fancy and shiny. The two most outstanding parts of it are the breakfast area which is awesome and the dog park may be 100 x 40 meters wide which is absolutely amazing. I will definitely stay here again. After a long trip of driving eight hours a day for six days, this was the happiest my pups were.
- AdityaDec 11, 2023Scenic location
Charming building on a mountainside. Wood floors, modern appliances. Hospitable staff
- CassandraJun 10, 2023Super Dog Friendly
This hotel is unique and beautiful with gorgeous views! It's not a major chain which was refreshing. The staff was very friendly and helpful. There were quite a few dogs staying and it seems that all the dog rooms surround the fenced in dog area. The rooms had vinyl floors as opposed to carpet and looked and smelled very clean. Very large rooms! My dogs had a great time running and playing inside the huge fenced in area. It was also nice that they provided bags and a scooper in the dog area. Also this was the only place we happened to come across on our 1800 mile journey that allowed multiple large dogs for NO additional pet fee! Would absolutely recommend to anyone.
- HollyJan 22, 2023Dirt & dog poop everywhere
While we are appreciative that The Inn at Mountain View is pet friendly, we did not appreciate that there was dog poop all over the fenced in area where we are directed to take our dogs to do their business. We stayed for 2 nights. The second night we took our dogs outside into the grassy area near the well lit parking lot, and we also stepped in dog poop there! The staff’s excuse was that their scooper was stolen. In addition to dog poop, there was litter outside in several places, and a railing from the upper level parking lot to the lower level parking lot was toppled over. The rooms themselves were acceptable: new vinyl flooring, and re-done bathrooms, though the water pressure was abysmal.
- SallyDec 30, 2022Nice people
Good dog place.
- JulieNov 19, 2022Large room, fenced area for dogs
Was quick stay on my way to pick up my daughter. Room was large with vinyl flooring. Room smelled very clean. Nice fenced in area for dogs off the third floor. Inn built into the side of the hill. As with all places you have pet owners who do not clean up after their pets. With it being dark as I was walking around with my dog I stepped in poo!! Please clean up!! Would stay again.
- JohnOct 8, 2022Dog Park Attached
The third floor has convenient access to a good sized dog park. The Inn is built into a hill that allows access to the fenced area, dedicated to Fido. The rooms have extra space to play!
- ClydeSep 22, 2022Great staff
Good local food.
- SueAug 1, 2022Great pet yard!
Lots of grass and space in the 3rd floor fenced-in pet yard (yes, you read that right). The rooms were quite large. We weren’t big fans of breakfast but it was typical of our usual stay. We would come back with our pup, for sure.
- CalebJul 29, 2022Fantastic room for our dogs!
We loved that this hotel accommodated our two dogs, both of which are above 40 pounds and are usually stereotyped. Our room was nice for just us and the dogs. The room was nice, the dog park was convenient for the bathroom needs, and everything was great. The only reason why not a full 5 bones, we had a few minor electrical issues with flickering lights and had to set up the cable box to the tv in order to work. Nothing that we couldn't remedy on our own.
- MaureenMay 9, 2022Easy access to dog park area on 3rd floor
Clean and quiet room. Loved access to dog area without having to return to lobby.
- DonnaJan 7, 2022Nice
We are happy to see they are getting work done since the last time we stayed. Our room was clean and spacious with a new laminate flooring for easy clean up. Bathroom could be nicer but it was clean. It's nice to have a room conveniently located to the fenced in dog area but we wish they would have a spot light on at night because some folks don't pick up their dog poop even though poop bags are provided in the dispenser. Continental breakfast was a bonus plus we had a Keurig in our room with enough pods to get us going before making it to breakfast in the lobby. If you travel with dogs, this is a nice place to stay.
- GinaMar 23, 2021Nice place!
Nice place-people were friendly and accommodating.
- LouannaNov 8, 2019Just Alright
We came here for an event with our pet. First of all, it was a decent amount of space in the room, I can say that but there were not to many amenities and that's ok. The thing that got me is that we got a room where only other people with pets had been in and there was dog hair all over the place. My allergies flared up so bad that I was wheezing whole time I was in the room. We ended up cutting our stay short because I couldn't handle it and my son's asthma started acting up. I just believe that the rooms should be thoroughly cleaned and shampooed especially since other animals have been in the room. This was my biggest complaint but everything else was good and the views were cool as well.
