Beautiful hotel and rooms. You are warmly greeted when checking in. The second floor is the pooch floor and the rooms are not altered (all tile floors, older room, etc). The second floor has an automatic door in the back that is the ground level of garage access point. Between hotel and garage is a nice sized grassy area for your dog. Walkable to restaurants. We ate at Pale Fire Brewing which is an easy walk (and welcomed after a long drive) and very dog friendly with great suds and deep dish pizza.

From our first encounter in the lobby, the staff at Hotel Madison was welcoming to us and our pup, who ate up all of the extra attention. We were placed in a 2nd floor room with same-floor access outside for easy walks and loved being so close to the JMU campus so we could explore.

Lots of doggos were staying there over the holidays. They use the second floor as the doggie floor. Good soundproofing, very lovely hotel, great food, nice designated lawn area for pooch potty. Good location to JMU and to downtown. Upscale.
