Comfortable hangout, great coffe menu, downtown location!
Coffee HoundOne of a few places where you can take pups inside. Comfy chairs, great selection of coffee, friendly and welcoming place in downtown Hburg.
All around great experience!
Hotel Madison & Shenandoah Conference CtrLots of doggos were staying there over the holidays. They use the second floor as the doggie floor. Good soundproofing, very lovely hotel, great food, nice designated lawn area for pooch potty. Good location to JMU and to downtown. Upscale.
Great visit!
Hampton Inn Virginia Beach Oceanfront SouthWe had a lovely 2 nights at this hotel with our pup. The staff was exceptionally friendly in every interaction. I was impressed. I made the mistake of coming off the beach still a little drippy for the breakfast, and the staff could have given me a hard time about it (I was in error) but they were gracious and accommodating and mopped up after me. No outdoor swim pool, just indoors. We had a great experience! Many dog-friendly outdoor seating restaurants within walking distance. I'd go back.
Special outting with doggo.
Table 44Great food and very nice outdoor seating area for people and doggos, but the tables are somewhat close together so you have to keep your pup close. A better than average restaurant, so it is nice to be able to take your dog.
Nice visit!
Skipping Rock Beer Co.Beer and food was good, outdoor area is spacious with multiple picnic tables and fire pits. Area is sunny and mulched, but there are a lot of umbrellas and canopies for shade. Staff was very friendly to my pooch. They provided water bowls to fill and take to the table. There were a couple of dog toys laying around.
Beach, History and Intriguing Forest Swamp
First Landing State Park Campsite & CabinsBarleycorn and I enjoyed a tentsite at the park in May before the summer beach season got underway. So we had nearly empty Chesapeake Bay-side beach to walk and wade in. There were a number of other dogs at the campground--they must stay on leash or line. Virginia Beach had dog parks and even a couple of doggie restaurant options! Set beside Fort Story, this park gets morning and evening broadcasts of revelry which was a surprise! The park has amazingly beautiful bald cypress hiking trails. The Bay being less surfy than the nearby ocean was a great place for my pup to try out a salt water swim with small waves. American history was made at this park!
