    Lovely place!

This is my go-to place while I stay in Oakland! Beautiful location on the water with lots of dog friendly places nearby! 5 bones!

    Nothing special

Very plain. Room has a coffee maker. No wash cloths just bath towels.

Lots to do if you want, or just hang out and watch people, dogs, and boats. Hotel is clean and very dog friendly.

    Very pet friendly, lovely location

While we live in Oakland, we had only been to this hotel for a conference or dinner. Our home was damaged in a storm and we needed a dog-friendly place to stay for several nights. This was perfect. Room was large, comfortable, and spacious, staff were definitely pet friendly, there are two large grassy areas for dog walking (though not enclosed) and walking along the water from is nice even in the rain. A fenced dog park is about 6 blocks away. Every restaurant has a large outdoor area so you can bring your dog with you to eat. Coffee maker, refrigerator, and microwave in the room. Our room had a nice sitting area where we could have the dog bed. This is the first time we had used BringFido and it is a terrific discovery. I recommend the hotel and this service!

    Best dog hotel in Oakland!

We stayed here for one night about 4 years ago and loved the hotel. This trip was for 6 nights and we spent the whole trip at the Waterfront. The property is in the heart of Jack London Square with all kinds of restaurants within walking distance with so many choices and many have outdoor patios. The employees of the Waterfront are accommodating and very friendly. The ferry to SF is right out the door. Don’t miss the Rosenblum Wine Bar. I highly recommend this property and have decided to make this our go-to hotel.

    Great for dogs and humans

I love the view from the room of the marina. Restaurants are open again. The Waterfront Cafe has a firepit in the evening and to go coffee in the morning. The hotel doesn’t do anything special for your dog (no dog biscuits). They used to have free coffee in the lobby in the morning and happy hour on Fridays, but that had disappeared after Covid (rather disappointing). Easy to walk dog and a green area next to the hotel. There is no free parking (valet is $35 now). The Square is beautifully decorated for the holidays with carolers singing in the evening. We had some partiers in the room next to us, and was a bit noisy, but they quickly quieted down. My dog approved.

    Dog friendly

There was no problem bringing my 2 dogs and the price was very reasonable. Will come again.

    Great location!

I loved the location, on the water! And, yes there were some nice green grass spots by the hotel, but also, I could take my dog for a long walk along the pier, and keep going for more grass and more water! And lot's of people had their dogs out for walks too!

    Awesome location

We had freedom to live our doggie lifestyle and be safe, comfortable, and clean. Plenty of walking and exploring right out the door of the hotel like Jack London Square.

    Awesome dog spot

So dog friendly. Everyone was so kind and loved our dog. There was plenty of grass, an unofficial dog park down the waterfront and so many delicious places to eat outdoors. We will be back.

    Redefining the Rating

The hotel is on the water in Jack London Square and is a tourist type area-hectic evenings and weekends but quiet during the work week. There are many walking options with car traffic walking towards the city are or without cars walking along the waterline where the ferry lands and boats are docked. The staff are amazing and cared for Chewie or had the grace of believably pretending to. I tagged this as "redefining the rating" because my previous ratings might have been biased by human standard. Chewie is looking forward to going back to this hotel and is her favorite so far.

    No Hot Water!

Don't stay here if you want to shower in even slightly lukewarm water. Two night stay and no hot water. Front desk staff said they'd send someone up and never did, asked if I ran the water for 20 minutes (I did), and then stated, "well, it's an old building." I've had better camping accommodations. Management is supposed to call but I'm not holding my breath.

Great location, great service & all around whole some stay

First time staying at the Waterfront, and I will definitely come back. The room was a beautiful view of the marina, the service (kudos to Lisa M.) from the entire staff was really extraordinary. I enjoyed a relaxing four days with my little doggie. The only issue one may have is the sound of the trains. Fortunately, they only happen during the day. Personally, after a couple of train runs, both my dog and I had tuned it out.

Mixed experience - great staff - not so great parking

It pains me to write this review because initially we were thrilled with the Waterfront. The staff was helpful and friendly. Our dog was very happy with the adjacent lawn and walk along the bay. We were pleased that parking was provided on the premises close to the front door BUT the next morning, we found our car had been broken into with the passenger side window broken and items from our front seat stolen. The staff was reassuring and asked us to fill out a claim - but that claim was rejected. (I wonder why they didn't know or tell us that it wasn't covered?) The area is a bit dicey so it shouldn't have come as a surprise that there was a theft but I would have wanted the hotel to provide a security camera or guard, knowing what the neighborhood is like. There was a staff member who admitted that this wasn't the first time this happened. I give them four stars, because it was a great place for our dog and if you don't have a car, then no worries.

    A hidden gem!

I’ve now stayed her twice. It’s wonderful! Only criticism was parking on the weekend was rough but they have overflow parking which was nice just far to lug bags..

    Clean modern hotel.

This hotel is right on the water. Dog walking space is somewhat limited, but they are very accommodating to dogs. We were able to leave our dog in her crate when we went out for dinner a little walk away from hotel.

    Great hotel

Beautiful and comfortable rooms, friendly service, everything works, excellent location, first rate restaurant with reasonable prices and an intelligently assembled wine list. AND you can bring your dog (you need to tell them that when booking). It really doesn't get better than this.
