When you see the word Biltmore, you think Biltmore Estate: spacious, expensive, and elegant. None of these adjectives would apply. The hotel is a wonderful deal for pups and houses them for free with a pillow and a water bowl. Human treatment is good, rooms are comfortable but dated. Bathrooms are crying for a remodel. All that said, the staff is amazing and friendly. They pride themselves on being a LGBT safe haven. I think it is, especially in North Carolina.
- MelanieDec 9, 2022We liked it very much
It was a quaint, quirky, pretty place. The staff were great! After our long drive we really enjoyed the wine and cheese they shared with us. Poppy our mutt was happy. If you want modern, shiny and cookie cutter, this is not the place. If you want to hear about, and hope to see, the resident ghosts, it is.
- SusanSep 6, 2022Greensboro Biltmore
The staff at this hotel is fabulous, but the hotel is very dated. The bathroom sink had a huge crack and no stopper. The toilet is extremely low. Room is quite tight. Air conditioning system is old fashioned and noisy at night. This hotel really needs an update.

Great with dog needs, Bowls etc. Older hotel with lots of charm and history.

Very small room, said queen but really a double bed. Plumbing problematic. Did ride in oldest elevator in NC.... while true it is still a joke.
- ChrisOct 19, 2021Amazing!
I can't recommend The Biltmore Hotel enough. It's an amazing historic hotel. As soon as we walked through the door, they asked if dog needed anything, from a bed on down to a snack (of which there was a full bowl on the counter). They also sated the 2 legged half of us with a wine and cheese welcome hour. I was regaled with stories of the hotel's history, which is incredibly interesting. I'll be coming back for the sole reason of staying here again! Thank you!

Excellent service and convenient location. Very clean, too.
- JohnJul 3, 2021Surprise in Greensboro
The Biltmore Hotel in Greensboro is a real gem. Historically interesting and possessing an eclectic vibe, this hotel was our first stop on a cross country drive with Carly our 100lb Bernese Mountain Dog. While the room was small, it was very clean and well kept. My only complaint is that what makes this hotel interesting also creates some challenges. An original elevator (think small, sliding cage like door) was not at all workable for our pup. She freaked out at the sound of the sliding/clanging closure. We had to use the stairs to get to and from our room on the third floor. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. We really enjoyed our stay here and would recommend for travelers who have smaller pets in tow.
- JustinJun 14, 2021What a great hotel!!
If you are looking for a relaxing and different place to stay and are tired of the usual places, this is a great choice. We stayed there with our dog and staff were very pet friendly. The rooms are wonderfully reminiscent of an earlier era with modern updates. Excellent breakfast. Greensboro has good restaurants near the hotel and a pleasant park for waking across the street. Highly recommend this spot.
- CandaceJun 14, 2021Nice, old-fashioned hotel
Perfectly nice to our dogs, comfy beds. Not great if you have a lot of luggage: 4 steps up, no bell person, small elevator with hand-controlled doors. Other than that, terrific choice.
- KathrynSep 3, 2020Pretty Historic Hotel!!
If your pet loves historical and charming.....this hotel is for you.
Friendly staff, comfortable beds and antique furnishings and they love dogs of any size!! - TaraAug 18, 2020Great Location
Lovely historic hotel with very friendly staff! Clean rooms. Nice breakfast. First time in Greensboro. Would definitely stay here if I pass through again. Dog’s enjoyed their stay too🐶
- DawnJun 22, 2020Quaint Hotel!
Historic hotel in a great location! Nice room with comfortable canopy bed! Front desk was professional and very helpful. Will stay there again!
- AlindaSep 6, 2019Great Stay
highly recommend! The staff were great and the room was fantastic! Will definitely stay again !
- ShellieMar 16, 2019Great Place For Dogs!
The staff here is so friendly and accommodating towards pups! There are NO animal fees, so amazing!
They provided a complimentary dog pillow and have you fill out an emergency form for your pup just in case.
We brought our pup to enjoy the cheese and wine that they provide for happy hour downstairs and after hours sitting by the fireplace and talking to other guests that brought their pups.
There’s a little spot of grass around the corner that your pup can do their business. Close to EVERYTHING! Totally recommend and will ALWAYS stay here when we come back to town for a visit! :) Michelle on Dec. 19, 2021 Chris on Aug. 8, 2021
