For the price and being right off the highway, you expect a certain level of not greatness. But this place was TERRIBLE. Super creepy, stunk, looks and feels abandoned. Definitely not recommend for a solo female traveler. If I didn’t have my guard dog with me I would have left.

had in issue at another hotel down the road so we relocated here. after the rigmarole of checking in (listening to the woes of working for a corporate establishment & complaining about the printer, third party booking sites, other employees etc etc etc) i finally just begged for the keys. when i went to check on the room before retrieving my mother, dog & luggage, i saw a snake slithering down the hall. it was well after 9pm & the rear entrance door was propped open. plus a side door was busted so anyone & anything can just come on in. we didnt have much choice at this point so we decided to stay. we locked the door with the bolt, latch & chain. later, after midnight, we exited through our backdoor that leads to the pool courtyard to walk the dog. well apparently youre not supposed to use this door because the card readers dont work. i got us back into the hotel but was locked out of our room because we had chained etc the door. i went to the front desk & explained the situation. he indicated this was a big problem. he immediately gave me his office chair to wheel down the hall so my mother could sit (my car keys were locked in the room). he said he would try a mechanical key but said we might have to wake the guest in the adjoining room if that doesnt work. after a few tries he got us in & we called it a night. the next morning i checked out the complimentary breakfast & left with several snapsnots & a cup of coffee. i have never seen a breakfast look like this. i wont elaborate because if you choose to stay here even after reading this review then you might enjoy the breakfast. i will say a lot of effort went into preparing it. upon check out i mentioned how we were locked out & there was a snake in the hall. she said they got the snake & youre not supposed to use the other door. how about a sign? or some caution tape? im itchy too now but am hoping a mosquito got me.

This is a very nice hotel. Not fancy, but clean and well appointed and maintained. The room was large, plenty of room in the bathroom for a litter box, and the bed deliciously comfy, with an assortment of pillows from which to choose. The only negative was the free breakfast. I suppose fir free, one shouldn't be too choosy, but the space was dingy (and doubles as a bar for events), cold cereals (none of which I could eat, as I have celiac disease), only 2% milk for the coffee, and the only food I could eat--eggs, breakfast meat, and breakfast potatoes--were greasy, and I had to ask the people who ordered before me if I could have the potatoes, since there was only one serving left (and they could have a different starch option; I couldn't). The waitress/cook was clearly over-worked: they had a sign up that they're hiring housekeeping staff, and clearly they need it, as she could have used help. Still, though. I forgive the breakfast for the comfort of the room. I could relax there (and so did my cat).

I don’t get the negative reviews about this place! What do you expect for the price? Private butler service?
This was a clean and clean smelling non-smoking, pet friendly rom/place that was perfect for a night stop over. The young guy at the front desk was great. Sheets and towels were clean and air conditioning was ice cold.

I stayed at the Clarion in DuBois, PA with my young son and our dog Murphy, while on a road trip across the US. In Dubois, PA, there were two options. I picked the Clarion due to proximity to the highway. I was really shocked by the level of cleanliness, and how outdated the property was. The lobby had water damage in the ceiling. We were assigned a room around the back of the hotel, it was dark back there and I hurried us inside. We had two doors on the ground floor, one of them was rusted out and filthy around the edges on the inside of the room. The lamps were completely rusty, the carpet was ancent and filthy, and the mattress were lumpy and the pillows smelled musty. I really just waited for morning, couldn't wait to leave. We left without breakfast as I was completely turned off by the property.

Friendly staff. We were travelling on holidays. Lots of grass for Bubba to run. Room was big and clean. Would stay here again.
