This photo was taken at Whitecap Beach in Corpus Christi, TX. This photo was taken on Whitecap Beach on North Padre Island, TX, which is a very short 30 minute drive from the La Quinta Inn in Portland, Texas where we stayed. Portland is wonderful because it has a very low crime rate compared to Corpus Christi itself. A bonus is that you can drive your car and all of your beach gear straight onto the beach itself. Be certain to buy a cheap and affordable parking pass at one of your local gas stations before parking on the beach. Dogs are allowed on the beach as long as they are leashed, well behaved, and kept near you/under your control.
