Camp Bow Wow Cary

Camp Bow Wow Cary offers dog boarding with a social play all day environment. Dogs are separated into indoor/outdoor play areas based on their size, temperament and play styles where they socialize and play all day. Boarding dogs are only in their cabins for meals and bedtime. At night, they are tucked in with a treat and soothing music. They keep a high staff to dog ratio and have web cams so you can watch your dog play while you are away. All of their Certified Camp Counselors® are trained in dog behavior, pet first aid, and dog CPR and are certified through their Standards of Excellence Program. To ensure safety of staff and campers, all dogs must pass a socialization interview, be spayed or neutered and current on all vaccinations. Visit Website

25 to 1 dog to person ratio?!?

Overall I was very disappointed in my first time visit to Camp Bow Wow. When dropping my pet off for her interview I noticed that the playrooms had a lot of dogs. When asked the dog to person ratio I was told 25 dogs to 1 person! I told the lady that there is a North Carolina law that states 10 dogs to 1 person. Her response was " we are part of the legislature and they were just here last week, there are a lot of loopholes". I was shocked that this was the response. I guess that is why the employees do not interact at all and why no toys are allowed in the playrooms! I watched the web cams all day and saw the girl in the playroom with her arms crossed with no interest in the dogs at all. It's not fair to expect one person to be responsible for 25 dogs, especially if they are very active and playful, as they usually are if they are at daycare. The staff was professional and kind to my pet but I cannot in good conscious put my pet in such an unsafe environment

My dog's home away from home

LOVE Camp Bow Wow! Staff is great! They are friendly, caring, and professional. My dog would drive himself to camp if he could! He drags me in because I he so excited to go play with his camp friends. We have also gone through the training classes offered and they have been so beneficial for me and my dog. Camp Bow Wow is awesome!

A place where a dog can be a dog

I moved here a year ago and live in an apartment. I started taking my dog to Camp Bow Wow 2 times a week or more. My dog loves it. I take out his "camp leash" and he can't wait to get in the car. He comes home eats his dinner and goes to sleep. It is nice for him to have a place he can be a dog with the rest of the "pack" . He loves to run around and play and doesn't get much of that when he is walked on leash. He can go in bad weather and heat of summer and he can play in a safe indoor space. I took him to another place once and in an 8 hour day he was let out to play for only 1 hour - the rest of the time he was in a kennel. I am so glad I found Camp Bow Wow and I have recommended them several times.

    Great playtime for our puppy

We started taking our new puppy here a couple of months ago. She loves it! Every time we get out of the car to go in, she goes CRAZY and runs to the front desk! They love her there and seem to take great care of her. I would recommend to anyone. I give 4 bones because I do think it's rather expensive for boarding, but I feel good knowing she is out of her crate a good portion of daytime hours. Will continue to use!

    Highly Recommend!

I've been taking my dog to Camp Bow Wow for about two years now... it's wonderful. Anyone can turn a building into a dog day-care, but it's the great staff that makes it "Camp".

She goes once or twice a week, and she's always excited and eager to go. When we pull up, she pulls me to the front door, then waits at the counter for the staff to come get her. That says a lot about how she's treated, and how she enjoys being there. At the end of the day, she comes out playful and tired. I've also noticed that the camping time has made her much better in public around other dogs. She knows the pack behavior and 'language', and is better with dogs in the neighborhood or parks.

I also use Camp Bow Wow's boarding service whenever I leave town with same results. She's happy; she eats there; and the playtime is great exercise for her. I like knowing the play is always supervised, and that all dogs have to be current on their required shots.

Again, my appreciation for the great staff and management system. I highly recommend Camp Bow Wow.

My dog loves Camp Bow Wow

I take my lab to camp bow wow about once a week for the exercise and socialization with other dogs. When we get into the parking lot, he will usually jump out of the car and run to the entrance. Once inside he can hardly wait to go play with the other dogs. I think that is a good sign that he loves going there. He always comes home very tired after a day of constant playing and fun. Camp bow wow is great. The facility is very nice and clean and the staff are always very friendly. Their boarding kennels are nice and large as well. I would definitely recommend this place to my friends for their dogs.

I give the camp 4-bones instead of 5 because of the quality of the online video streaming. The frame rate and resolution could be better.
