The Berkeley County Animal Shelter is committed to maintain a fiscally-responsible, healthy, safe and loving environment for rescued, abandoned, abused, or neglected animals of Berkeley County where all animals receive appropriate care and attention at all times and are treated with dignity and respect while pursuing the placement of the animals into safe, lifelong homes.

Dorchester Paws, formerly Frances R. Willis SPCA, strives to instill humane principles into society through the prevention of cruelty to animals. They envision a world where every animal goes on the journey from victim to victory. They are committed to ending unnecessary euthanasia and giving every animal a chance; combating overpopulation by encouraging spaying & neutering; championing responsible pet ownership through public education; feeding the hungry, sheltering the homeless and protecting the abused; and reuniting lost pets with their families and finding homes for strays.

Charleston Animal Society is an open-admissions animal shelter serving Charleston County, and they never turn an animal away. They provide temporary sanctuary to lost, abandoned or abused domestic animals; provide medical care and promote adoption.
