Cuyahoga County Animal Shelter Cuyahoga County Animal Shelter is a temporary home for lost and stray dogs. Anywhere from 50-80 dogs come in weekly. The dog is held for 72 hours to give potential owners a chance to find their lost pet. After 72 hours the dogs are placed for adoption. The Cuyahoga County Animal Shelter addresses any health issues (complicated & routine), thanks to the Dick Goddard Best Friend's Medical Relief Fund. See Details

The Sanctuary for Senior Dogs The Sanctuary for Senior Dogs is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to the rescue, adoption, and lifelong care of senior dogs abandoned in pounds and shelters. They rescue senior dogs primarily from shelters in Northeast Ohio. All of their dogs now come from shelters rather than from the public because of the high demand for spaces in our rescue. To eliminate cruelty, neglect and abuse of dogs in Athens County and surrounding areas. Lil Paw Prints Animal Rescue Haven We are an ALL volunteer, no paid employee, foster home based no kill animal rescue. We run strictly out of foster homes as we have no shelter building. We receive no government funding. We are a Self-Funded Non-Profit. We rely on our adoption fees, surrender fees and the kindness of the public to keep our rescue running.

We rescue puppies and dogs from the High Kill shelters/pounds and give them a second chance at a wonderful life with their forever family. We also, when the space allows, take in owner surrenders.

The Champaign County Animal Welfare League In addition to pet adoptions, The Champaign County Animal Welfare League in Mechanisburg, OH provides a low cost spay and neuter clinic for the community, as well as an indoor dog park, fenced outdoor dog park and several miles of pet-friendly trails. The popular facility also offers a complete grooming area and petting zoo. Mechanicsburg mutts can enjoy access to everything for a membership fee, which goes towards the upkeep of the trails and all other amenities. See Details

Lake Humane Society & Adoption Center Lake Humane Society & Adoption Center in Mentor, OH, has been dedicated to the welfare and protection of animals since 1937. The organization is focused on the relief of suffering and the prevention of cruelty and abuse to animals, and it relies solely on contributions made by members of the community. Lake Humane Society set up low-cost wellness clinics which provide a convenient and affordable way for owners to keep up vaccinations for their pets. Spay and neutering surgeries and microchipping are also offered to pet owners in the community.
