When all the cute downtown restaurants were swamped with Seagull and Seafarer campers we had to eat really early, really late, or further afield. This very good Mexican restaurant is on the "drag" - MLK Blvd. a few miles from downtown. Somewhat hard to find, behind a new Harris Teeter grocery store, there were several outside tables under a large overhang. The staff was very friendly. The menu was very extensive. Food was tasty. Very inexpensive!

This restaurant has closed. A Japanese restaurant has opened at this address. Don't know if it is dog-friendly.

Some tables face east, some face north so you can adjust for wind and sun. Solid roof provides better shelter than umbrellas, which helped us enjoy this establishment on a drizzly day. We ended up eating lunch here three times in our six day stay.
