    Wonderful

Loved the environment here! Tucked away great food and drinks place. The Porch is on the smaller size so keep that in mind if your baby is large or minds other dogs.

    Great dinner, great atmosphere

had a great dinner here! they brought over a dog bowl of ice water. only one dog allowed per table (as it says on their website). you have to sit outside, too, but that’s where we wanted to be anyways so we loved it :)

Don’t bother if you have more than 1 dog

we have 2 trained golden doodles and were turned away for service. Plenty of other restaurants that allow more than 1 dog. Stewman’s for one. they’ll even bring the dogs a bowl of water.

    One dog per table

We were excited to check this place out because a few people said it was a great dog-friendly spot in Bar Harbor, but we had two small dogs with us, and they wouldn't seat us with more than one dog at the table.

    Great Pet-Friendly Choice

The staff were friendly and accommodating. Our pup was loved on by many as she walked the patio, and was offered a bowl of water. Fun for kids too and the food hits the spot! If your pup is noise-sensitive, it's also a perk to be off the main drag.

    We love this place

There is no other place that I would rather dine out in Bar Harbor than this fun, cozy, awesome cafe. The food is amazing. My husband goes nuts for the lobster melt and I always get the Emmy which is vegetarian. I’m not even vegetarian and I get it, I just love it so. The outside seating with the pooch is a tad tricky because the tables are high with tall chairs, but our little Jack Russell terrier didn’t seem to mind cooling off under the table while we ate. They’ll bring you a dish of water if you ask but they have a big water bowl for all the pups. (Our dog is a lunatic and refuses to drink from a communal dish) I just love it here and I love that they allow dogs to join in the bright and friendly atmosphere.

Great food with lots of gluten free

First restaurant experience with our dog. Service was great! Delicious food and cocktails. She had chicken. We had lobster mac n cheese, pulled pork sandwich and blueberry margaritas. Yummy!

    Great Spot

We went here for lunch after a nice hike so our dog was tired by the time we arrived. I could see how it would be tougher for a dog who wanted to roam, it is a smaller space. That being said, everyone was so friendly and we weren't the only ones with a dog there. The waiter even brought us out a water bowl. (Try the margaritas and the lobster mac!)

    Dog friendly patio.

The patio is dog friendly, which is always greatly appreciated. I would agree with another reviewer that the layout is awkward, so it does make it a little more challenging to keep your dogs out of the way of the servers and other guests. Our dogs are about 30#, so we tried to seat them under the eating area. The food was quite good. My husband and I both have the Mac. The half portion was hefty, but delicious.

    Not so dog friendly

We went to this restaurant because of the reviews on this site and on tripadvisor. I must honestly say that our waitress was not very found of dogs at all and she did not offer a bowl of water for our dog. We had to sot outside and the only seats that are outside are these bar stools which is not handy when you have a min pin as a dog. The food was good.

Delicious Mac & Cheese and dog friendly environment

The food was delicious and it was nice to be able to sit outside and eat with our dog. It was a chilly night and we were the only ones eating outside but they happily sent a server outside to us. Outside heaters would be great but no real complaints.

good for the dog, great for me!

Side Street was busy, but we got seated on the side porch. They brought our dog a dish of water, and they brought me lobster mac & cheese. Wow, was that a great dish!! Best I've ever had! Will certainly visit Side Street when I return to Bar Harbor.

    love the margaritas

We stopped here on our first night that we were on vacation in Bar Harbor. We heard that they were great about dogs and had good margaritas. How could you go wrong with that combo?

Well, it started off a little iffy. Their patio area is quite small and oddly structured. We have a large golden retriever and it was hard for him to find a place to lay where he wasn't in the way. In fact, he never did. Either his head or butt was in the walking space. Not his fault. He tried. However, with that all being said, the waitresses were very understanding. Not all the people were. Our waitress even brought him a bowl with ice. Aw!

The margaritas were delicious. We had the classic. Although, if you're interested they have a new seasonal one each month. Yum! I could have stayed for more than one if my hairy guy was more comfortable and not having to be literally walked over.

My husband had the build your own Mac and cheese. Winner all around. I had the black bean quesadillas. Meh! Ok. I think the menu doesn't offer a lot of appealing options for vegetarians. We shared some fries and they were quite yummy. Large cut. Even crispier would be even better.

We'll be back for drinks. Most likely not dinner due to the vegetarian pickiness.

    best restaurant in Bar Hatbor

Found great spot on deck for puppy. Happy hour 3-6. Great beer and margarita specials. Build your own gourmet Mac and cheese. This place was perfect!
