Nestled two blocks from Kaimuki Community park, the dog-friendly 8 1/2 Desserts is home to the original Hawaiian ice cream pie, a decadent combination of fruity sweetness and creamy goodness. Other yummy treats include ice cream cookie sandwiches, mango and pineapple sorbet, ice cream by the cone, cup, or bowl, and Deelites -- chocolate covered ice cream scoops on a stick There is one small table a a couple of benches out front where dogs are welcome. 8 1/2 Desserts makes a great place to cool off on a hot summer day. Opens at 12:30pm Sunday through Friday and 11:30am on Saturday; closed Wednesdays.
