Entry Requirements

Complete the following entry requirements to travel to Croatia with your pet:
  • Five or fewer dogs, cats and ferrets, which need not be of the same species, may be accepted into Croatia with a Non-commercial Health Certificate. Over five pets may be accepted for travel related to competitions, exhibitions, or sporting events, or training for the purpose of such events.
  • Pets must be identifiable via a microchip implanted before the pet receives their rabies vaccination or a clearly readable tattoo.
  • Pets must be at least 16 weeks old and be vaccinated against rabies. Wait 21 days after the vaccination is given to travel to Croatia.
  • Travelers from the U.S. will need to obtain a health certificate from an authorized veterinarian. The health certificate needs to show proof of the rabies vaccination, include a written statement of the owner or person accompanying the animals, that the animals are not subject to movement that has the purpose of sale or transfer of those goods and a document stating that the animal arrived, either directly or through Croatia from a third country.
  • Travelers from Europe can use an EU Pet Passport in place of a health certificate, and pets from other EU Member States may be younger than 12 weeks and unvaccinated against rabies, or aged between 12 and 16 weeks and have only been vaccinated against rabies within 21 days from the date of travel.

Quarantine Information
