Roadtripping with the Dobes

We have been here a few times to meet up with friends. The pups and their owners have always been friendly. It is small and not a lot of room for big dogs to get up to speed. I hate to say, unfortunately, that every time I have been there I have seen dogs with terrible diarrhea. I don’t know if that has anything to do with the park or not. Just something I noted.

This is a large, fully fenced area with a creek running on two sides. The dogs can run and play in the water and still be in a secure site. Plenty of trees and places to sit, poop bags and trash cans. There are also hiking trails to take your pups on leash. Best of both worlds!

Yes there is a cement parking lot… but look up! See all that grass and trees and trails? It’s a fenced in dog park on a slope. It is large and grassy (tall and short grass for hide and seek). Trails and trees… it is on a pretty steep slope, so you’ll get your legwork in when you climb up the hill to clean up after your pooch. Plenty of poop bags and trash cans. There is a picnic table to sit down, but it’s not in the shade. If you need shade, you’ll have to hike up the hill (or bring an umbrella). Bring your own water.

We had a great lunch outside with four dogs and five humans. Each table outside had an umbrella and a small stream runs underneath the deck. The food and cocktails are great! The service was very nice and they brought out water bowls for each dog. I would definitely go back and recommend, although it is on the more expensive side, so you should check the menu before stopping by to see if it is within your price range. I don’t know what it would be like during the cold and rainy season. But on a nice, day it was amazing!
I only give five bones if a venue can accommodate the fur kids year round.

We live Saal and visit frequently. The venue is very dog friendly in any weather! It is a craft brewery in an old volunteer fire house, and their mascot is of course, a Dalmatian! The owners and staff are very friendly and attentive, and the food is great! The beer is great too! Our favorite thing is the savory blue cheesecake appetizer. They run out frequently because it is so delicious. Each time that we have visited, the chef comes out and brings a treat for the dogs and gets to know them by name. I was very surprised that they remembered our dog’s names. All of the dogs get their own dog water bowl. Inside and out it is cement floors so if it is chilly bring your dog blanket.
Definitely a great place to stop whether you live local or you are traveling.

We were staying in the area and stopped here to check out the beer selection. We parked out front and left the dogs in the car. Everyone in the bar said please bring your dogs in the pub!
We were hungry, and the bar does not serve food, but there is a restaurant right next-door, and they will bring the food to you table when you order. After we ate dinner we brought the dogs in and everybody came and greeted them and they brought water and lots of love for our fur babies. We felt so comfortable and welcome here. 🩷🩷🩷
This is a beautiful location, nestled among the tall trees. The entire fenced area is thickly covered with wood chips. It was not muddy after a heavy rain. The neighborhood is friendly with well-behaved dogs.
