Beautiful and Peaceful

Old Cahawba Archaeological Park

I brought my Australian Cattle Dog here for her birthday, she turned 1 year old today.
The park was very relaxing, peaceful and beautiful. The trails are concrete and wheelchair ♿️ accessible and stroller friendly.
There are many things to see on your walk. There is a beautiful wood church across from the visitor's center. We took the nature trail along side the church. It was an easy, leisurely walk. Very enjoyable. We also walked the trail to the right of the parking lot. So many interesting things to see.
I highly recommend this park.
Please, if you do take your dog(s), pick-up after them. It only takes one person to ruin it for the rest of us.

Unpleasant

Paul Grist State Park

I stopped at the park to see what it was like. I am always looking for new, interesting places to take my dog walking/hiking. The lake was pretty, the road in the park is very narrow so, I wouldn't recommend any RV's or campers, there is not any place to turn around.
I stopped at a small pull off by the lake and this man came flying down on a golf cart asking me why I was there. I felt that was out of place since it is a public park. He proceeded to tell me I owed HIM a fee of $3.00 for coming into HIS park. I kindly put my dog in our vehicle and left.
I don't recommend women going there alone or with their children but, if you do, just be very careful!
I did give 2 bones because it was a pretty lake.
