Dog Park and Good coffee!
Love's Travel Stop OpelousasWe stopped coming and going on the way to Lafayette. The dog park is very nice, complete with separate Large dog and Small dog fenced areas, away from the main building and traffic, so Fido is not distracted from his/her business 🤗 There's also a poopy bag dispenser and disposal can by the entrance to each area. On the day we went, the gas prices were the lowest in the area and inside the Love's is a Hardee's and lots of fresh fruit, snacks and sandwiches for a quick meal on the go. The coffee was the best I've ever had from a gas station pit stop! They have the 'good ice' - IYKYK. The location is easy access off and on to I-49. Exit 15 /Harry Gilbeau Road. We loved this LOVE's ❤️
Hot Spot for Dogs !!
BoondogglesBoondoggles in Seabrook, Texas is the ideal dining destination for doggy and family. We were greeted by friendly staff on the back patio. Picnic table dining, it was 100 degrees and we all stayed cool under a covered patio with multiple fans and a breeze coming off the water. A large bowl of Ice water for our pup, Tiki, plenty of other doggies to distract him, a very versatile foody menu, a fantastic beer, wine and cold drink menu, they even had my favorite beer from a Abita, Louisiana brewery (hard to find in these parts). The food was very good, including choice of unseasoned beef or grilled chicken patties for Tiki. The inside was cozy, cool and quaint, with a vintage pub vibe and wood fired pizza oven in plain view. This was a great dining and we look forward to our next visit !
Hidden Gem
Brick & SpoonNice place a bit off the Main Drag of Pigeon Forge. Open from 7am til 2 pm for breakfast, brunch and lunch. Seems to have a Louisiana connection and Beignets were immediately offered. I had shrimp and crawfish topped eggs benedict with hollandaise sauce, served with a side cheesy grits - it was delicious, My wife shared eggs, country ham and bacon with Tiki. Tiki liked her home fry potatoes too! A fresh bowl of water and a dog treat was offered. Another pup toting family was dining a couple tables away. The Brick & Spoon features an outdoor seating area for pet families, with umbrellas topped tables. All-in-all a good experience.
Trip Down Memory Lane
The Nashville HouseMy family used to come here 50 years ago when I was a kid and eat the Famous Fried Chicken and Fried biscuits with locally made apple butter. Today it was just as good and a great Pet-Stop. They offer a nice menu selection for humans. The waitress told us we could order beef patties, chicken and other items for the pup, but they are not on the menu. Tiki had a chargrilled chicken breast ($4.59) and then he also tried my blackened salmon. There were other diners with dogs and we enjoyed our meal bery much. just being in Little Nashville makes you feel good. It's a beautiful town in the middle of 'Nowhere Indiana' - a hidden gem ! Dinner for 3 was about $52, the service was excellent, we left with a Doggie Bag !
The Perfect Pet-Stop
Oasis DinerGreat little old fashioned diner. Plainfield is such a beautiful town and The Oasis is a perfect fit and our little Tiki ate like a king. Half the patio area is designated 'pet friendly'. Tiki got a burger off the kids menu and we had the world famous breaded pork tenderloin sandwiches that are native to Indiana cuisine! Our server, Braden was very attentive, thorough and got a hefty and well deserved gratuity !! There is a nice walking trail and stream right by the parking area that was a nice surprise !! Just go !!
Good Pet-Stop
McAlister's Deliwe carried little Tiki in with us and sat outside in a large, covered patio area. It was very nice and a larger than normal McAlister's. The food was good and it was a good Pet-Stop for the 3 of us !!
