Maverick

My husband and I adopted two German Shepherds from a Los Angeles Rescue in October 2021. in November my sister in law visited. Maverick was constantly barking at her. He would not leave her alone. Luckily no biting. Anyway, my husband wanted to return him. that is just not how I handle things. I was desperate. I live in West Palmdale but looking at their website, there were no classes starting quickly. I ran to the East Palmdale PetSmart. I just walked into the training room in the back of the store (a nice setup by the way). Wanda and Rebecca were inside luckily not in a class because i was so desperate, I would have interrupted the class. Rebecca had a class at 3:00 (4 hours later). I signed Maverick into three six-week classes. Maverick loved going to school and learned quickly. Rebecca handled him and me very well. A lot was going on during our time in training: I was going to college, working, and personal problems at home. Rebecca helped both me and Maverick become great students. My recommendation is to practice everything you learn in the class at home with your dog. You will find you and your dog learning better than if you do not do this. You learn at minimum three skills per lesson. I tried to do one hour of walking and skill building daily with Maverick. Maverick is still a bit high maintenance during walks (in fact I bought treats today to work on his skills). Maverick is very well trained with all other skills taught in class. He is an amazing dog. His dad loves him too. Maverick completed the three classes. I appreciate Rebecca for getting us in quickly. Her kindness will never be forgotten.
