Beautiful Garden Center
Knollwood Garden Center and LandscapingPlenty of room to explore with leashed pup. Dog-friendly staff liked to chat, although I think they may be instructed not to pet dogs (?). Extensive gift shop inside. Breakable items, so heads up if your dog is a little clumsy :) Greenhouses can be quite warm in summer. Weekends busy. I like to visit here in off hours.

Easy shopping with leashed dog
Half Price BooksGreat spot for running book-related errands with pup in tow. Aisles are fairly narrow and it’s usually a bit busy, so it’s for well-trained dogs only. There are often children there. Bonus it’s right beside a Pet Supplies Plus.

Great place for a well-socialized pup
The GreeneGreat place to walk your dog and either expose a puppy to new sights, sounds, and people or keep an older dog well-socialized. There’s a small, grassy area in the center of the Greene where dogs can pee in a pinch, but children play there so grassy areas on the outside perimeters of parking lots is better, imo. Several stores allow dogs inside: Old Navy, Books & Co, and Sephora (but call ahead bc management changes may affect this). There is a family restroom available if you’re alone with your dog and can’t leave him outside. I’ve also taken him in the single stall bathroom at Old Navy. Multiple outdoor dining tables but nowhere to order food without going in without your dog. Great place to train with distraction.

Great Garden Center
Berns Garden CenterDog-friendly staff and both outdoor displays and indoor greenhouses easy to navigate with leashes dogs. Aisles not too narrow. Plenty of space when waiting to pay. Can be crowded on summer weekends. We went recently and, although temps were mild, my boxer was panting more than expected. An employee who dog sits on the side brought me a cup of water for him to lap up.
