Days Inn by Wyndham SyracuseI’ll start with the good part. They allow dogs and bed was ok. Now for the bad part. Old bathroom with a hole in the wall, bed only had a thin coverlet over the sheets; it was a chilly night, so asked at the front desk for blanket as there was none in the room, and was given one with holes in it that only covered part of the bed! Walls were paper thin and it was noisy, which upset our dogs and none of us got any sleep.
Dog friendly
The Garden InnWe had a big room, very adequate for us and 2 dogs. They also have a doggie station and grass spots. The only reason it doesn’t get more stars is it is older, but we only needed it for 1 night. There are many dining options nearby. We did carryout and ate in the room, so I don’t know of any dog friendly dining options.
For a quick stay
Quality InnWhen we checked in, we found out they were painting the hall where our room was. We have two Cavaliers. They have long, feathered tails. I tried real hard to keep them away from the paint, but both ended up getting paint on their tails. I didn’t realize it and picked one up to try to keep control of them, and I now have paint on my new Columbia jacket and my purse. I realize this is a limited issue, but it did leave a negative feel for me. The room was ok.
Charming and great location!
Tugboat InnTugboat Inn is right on the harbor, so great view! Room was good size and had a deck to enjoy as well. It had several great restaurants within walking distance, stores too. There is an hour long ferry ride that allows dogs that was great fun called Balmy Day Cruises which also was within walking distance. Tugboat part is actually a restaurant, the building next door was where we were. That restaurant had great steamed lobster! Didn’t see any restaurants you could take a dog to, but so close that if you get carryout you’re not far. Go to Blue Moon Cafe for breakfast, they have great blueberry muffins and blueberry pancakes to die for!
Vermont Charm
Aerie Inn of VermontThe Aerie Inn is set in a rural spot surrounded by mountains. Has large yard and each room is under a covered deck. All on one level, you can walk out your door and it’s a short walk to find a place for them to do their business. Room was large enough for two queen beds and room to set up a kennel. East Dorset is only minutes away from Manchester, where there are plenty of restaurants and nice shops. Unfortunately it was rainy when we were there, but saw that there were at least 3 outdoor seating restaurants that welcome dogs.
